Since always, facts and places described in the holy biblical writings have been a subject of investigation, to prove its veracity or to target it into question. In fact, one of the mysteries that still surround the mind of people who study these writings corresponds to the locations of the blessed and prolific Eden.

For those less familiarized with biblical tales, Eden was the paradise that God gave to Adam and Eve, the first man and the first woman on earth, but it was also the place of his first punishment against men. God authorized the couple to eat from all of the fruits of the garden, except for the apple, the fruit of right and wrong; when they disobeyed, they were both expelled from that splendid place.

The clue, from which all investigations that have dedicated to proving the geographical location of this place are born, is also found in the bible, specifically in the book of Genesis: "A river came out of Eden, to water the orchard, and from there it divided into four arms. The name of one was Pison; it is the one that surrounds all the land of Havila, where there's gold; and the gold from that land is good; there's also Bdellium and Onyx. The second river is Gihon; it surrounds the land of Cus, the third river is Hidekel and the fourth river is Euphrates.

Even though the Euphrates is the main reference that places Eden's location in the Middle East, and it's assumed that the Hidekel is the Tigris, scientists haven't been able to establish a verifiable relationship between the rivers that currently exist. For many centuries, people who have studied this and investigators have tried to pin down an exact location to this place, that as the bible says, disappeared many years ago after the expulsion of Adam and Eve, thanks to a catastrophic flood.

Solving the mysteries about the location of Eden in our days has opposed the scientific community. For the professor and archeologist of Missouri State University in the United States, Juris Zarins, the Pison River that the bible mentions could be in Saudi Arabia, while the Gihon could be in Iran, what makes it clear that the Eden was in a zone of the Persian Gulf that is flooded nowadays.

However, Zarins's theory has been questioned by the investigator from the University of Oklahoma, John D. Morris, who has pointed out that while the four rivers that Zarins mentions would be close to each other, they don't flow into the same source like the bible mentions and the mineral deposits couldn't have generated the vegetable richness described in the bible.

In front of the failed attempt to prove the exact location of the place, most of the explanations have generated generalized conclusions on the location of Eden, assuming that it's under the sea close to Iran.
